The Distribution Protocol for Robinhood Chain
A self-sustaining protocol that distributes digital assets through real-world participation. The essentials below โ or download the full whitepaper as a PDF.
Abstract
DropHood turns token distribution into a real-world, location-based experience. Projects launch campaigns pinned to physical places; anyone who is actually there can claim free digital assets โ gasless, no ETH required โ and mint a Proof of Hood NFT proving they showed up. $DHOOD, launched on Virtuals Protocol as an agent token, powers the protocol โ it ships with the DropHood Distribution Agent, an AI agent that plans GPS drops through the platform's live API. Agent revenue funds a treasury that keeps the drops coming.
The Problem
Web3 doesn't have a distribution problem โ it has a participation problem. For years, airdrops were optimized for wallets: millions of claims, but little community โ bots, sybil farms, and mercenary multi-wallets. Distribution became a transaction instead of an experience.
How It Works
- Create a campaign. A project picks a location, a radius, a reward, and participation rules, and escrows the budget on-chain.
- Activate the location. Participants go to the zone; the backend verifies their GPS against the radius and issues a signed, single-use voucher.
- Claim onchain. A relayer submits the claim and pays the gas โ the reward and a Proof of Hood NFT land in the participant's wallet.
Simple for users. Powerful for projects. Verifiable onchain.
Tokenomics
$DHOOD is a standardized agent token launched externally on Virtuals Protocol (Standard Launch, Robinhood Chain): an open bonding curve that graduates to a locked DEX pool at 42,000 $VIRTUAL, with a 1% agent trade tax accruing to the agent treasury. Supply is 1,000,000,000. The protocol never mints or controls it โ it simply references the token address.
- The Distribution Agent. $DHOOD ships with an AI agent that plans GPS airdrops through DropHood's live API today โ autonomous execution and agent-to-agent hiring (ACP) are rolling out next. Other agents hiring it means new drops on the map, fees to the treasury, and new communities claiming.
- Platform fee. Self-serve (third-party) campaigns pay a flat 1% fee, taken from the creator's token at creation and enforced on-chain โ it can't be bypassed.
- Creator gate. Running a self-serve drop requires holding ~500,000 $DHOOD (โ0.05% of supply) โ an anti-spam barrier, re-pegged as the price moves.
- Self-sustaining loop. The 1% agent tax, agent job fees, and platform fees support the Airdrop Treasury, which funds future city campaigns โ more agent work โ more drops โ more people onchain โ more activity.
Proof of Hood
Every successful claim mints a Proof of Hood ERC-721 โ an onchain, collectible record that you were physically present at a drop. It stores the campaign, city, token symbol, timestamp and artwork โ never raw GPS. Over time, a wallet's Proof of Hood gallery becomes a verifiable map of the places its owner showed up.
Privacy
DropHood is location-aware without being surveillance. The contract only ever stores a salted location hash โ never exact coordinates. The public discovery map shows drops at a coarse, approximate area (~1 km), and the real GPS check always happens server-side at claim time.
Security
- Isolated escrow. Each campaign's budget is locked per-campaign; no ordinary admin function moves active escrow. Unspent funds refund to the creator after the end time.
- Signed, replay-safe claims. EIP-712 vouchers bind chain + contract + claimer; one claim per wallet; reentrancy-protected throughout.
- Upgradeable, multisig-owned. UUPS proxies let the team fix and migrate logic without losing state; ownership is held by a multisig and transfers are two-step. The code passed a multi-track internal security review before launch.
